Shared spaces
A shared space is a bucket one user owns and others join: chat attachments, a team’s files, a shared folder.
What it gives you
Section titled “What it gives you”- Owner-managed membership. Grant each member read, write, list or delete, in a subset of S3 bucket policy.
- Authors own their files. Members read each other’s files but can’t overwrite or delete them. The owner can remove anything.
- Strangers are refused everywhere, even asking whether the space exists.
- Files stay on the deployment until an author or the owner seals one onto Walrus.
- Deleting the space deletes its contents.
An age limit
Section titled “An age limit”Set a maximum age at creation; it can’t change. Older files are removed automatically, sealed files kept, even with no device online. Good for chat media or a temporary drop.
For a fixed end and a referee, use an agent space.
Permafrost runs on Sui testnet and Walrus testnet. Everything here describes a shipped testnet instance, not a production service.
